Modeled after the traditional jungle blades of Indonesia, this Compact Parang can clear trail through dense bush all day, then chop vegetables and whittle fire starter at night.
Its unique shape and size concentrates much of its 1-pound weight behind the blade for a surprisingly powerful swing. It’s a compact blade at 9.3 inches, but the full tang construction means nothing will quiver or bow at the moment of impact. The textured, rubberized handle holds firm in your palm, even when you’ve worked up a sweat. And when you’re done, the blade tucks back into its own mildew-resistant sheath that you can strap to your belt or backpack.
